Testing Movo on yourself safely
Last updated: October 4, 2026
The best way to see what families see is to be one. Add yourself as a family, text Movo back, and watch what it does. A few things to know first, so your test doesn't confuse your team or your numbers.
Before you start
- Use your own mobile number. Never use a real family's number, even with their permission.
- Use a number that isn't already in Movo. Movo won't add the same number twice. If you're already a parent in your organization, use a different phone.
- Pick a location you look after, and tell the people there. If you ask something Movo can't answer, it goes to them, exactly as it would for a real family.
Add yourself as a family
Go to Audiences and open Added manually. That's where families you add by hand live.
Under Add families, click Add a family.
Enter your name and phone number, and pick the location you want to test. Add a made-up child if you want to see how Movo talks about children. Then click Add family.
Movo sends you the same first text any family added this way gets, usually within a few minutes. Late at night it waits until the morning.
Test like a real parent
Reply the way a parent would. Ask about times, costs and what to bring. Try a question you know Movo can't answer, to see how it brings in your team. Ask to speak to a person.
Your conversation shows up in Conversations and on your family's page, the same as any other family.
What your test changes
- Your test family counts in your numbers as a new family until you delete it.
- Anything Movo can't answer shows up in Needs You and notifies your team.
- If you answer a question for Movo, the answer is saved to Knowledge and used for real families. Answer it properly, or not at all.
When you're done
Open your test family, click the three dots at the top right, and choose Delete family.
Movo offers to pause instead. Choose Delete to remove the family, its conversation and its place in your numbers.
