Adding knowledge Movo will use
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Knowledge is everything Movo knows about your organization, and it's what Movo uses to answer families. This article covers how to add it, change it and take it away. For what to add first, see What to add to knowledge first. When a family asks something Movo doesn't know yet, see Answering knowledge gaps.
Add a fact
Open Knowledge and click the level where the fact is true: the whole organization, a branch, or one location. Type the fact in the box and click Add to knowledge.
Movo starts using it in its next conversations. Keep each fact to one topic, and write it the way you'd say it to a parent.
Add a file
On the same level, click Upload here. You can upload a PDF, Word document, image, text file or CSV. Keep each file under 4 MB.
Movo reads the file, which takes a minute or so. Click it under Lives here to check. When it says In Movo's memory, Movo can use it.
If it says Movo couldn't read this, click Try again. If that doesn't work, upload a cleaner copy: a photo of the printed page, or a fresh export of the document. Or type the key facts in instead.
A few things to know about files:
- A file is a copy, not a link. If you change the original, Movo won't see it. Upload the new version, wait for In Movo's memory, then remove the old one.
- Spreadsheets need their headings in the first row. If there's a title above the column headings, delete it before you upload.
- Typed facts work better. Movo finds a short typed fact more reliably than a page buried in a long document.
Change a fact
When something changes, like a new meeting time or a new price, change the fact rather than adding a second one. Two facts that disagree leave Movo guessing.
Under Lives here, click the fact.
Click Edit.
Change the text and click Save. Movo uses the new version from then on.
Remove something
Open the fact or file, click Remove, then click Really remove. It's gone straight away, and Movo stops using it.
Remove things that are wrong or out of date. Removing can't be undone, so if you're replacing a file, add the new one first.
Check what Movo knows
Use the search box at the top of Knowledge to find anything Movo knows, at every level you can see. Try the words a parent would use, like "parking" or "cost".
You'll see facts added at levels above yours too, because Movo uses those for your families as well. You can only change or remove things added at your own level. To change one from above, ask the people who look after that level.
Keep it current
Before each season, go through your location's facts: times, dates, prices and contacts. Put end dates in the text of anything temporary, like "Early-bird price until September 1". That way Movo never offers a deal that's over.
