Families waiting for a location

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Movo talks to each family about their own location: its meeting times, its leaders, its schedule. Some families arrive without one, like a list with no location column or a form where they didn't pick. Here's what happens to them, and how to give them a location.

What Movo does with them

It depends on the audience's Outreach without a location setting.

  • Off: Movo waits. The family gets no messages until someone gives them a location. This is the usual choice.
  • On: Movo texts them straight away and helps them pick a location.

You choose this when you make an audience, and you can change it later under Edit settings. See Audiences and behaviors explained.

Find the families waiting

Go to Audiences and open the audience. Families waiting for a location are listed under Needs attention, above everyone else. Each row says who added them.

Give one family a location

Click Assign location on the family's row.

Pick their location from the list. You can type to search.

Click Assign. Movo starts with the family straight away, opening with the audience's first behavior and using that location's details.

Give several families a location at once

Go to Families and tick each family you want. Families without a location show Unassigned in the Location column. To tick a run of families, tick the first, hold Shift and tick the last. Then click Assign to location in the bar at the bottom.

Avoid it next time

When you import a list, include a column that says which location each family belongs to, or put the whole file under one location. See Importing a list of families.
