An email to introduce Movo to your unit leaders
Last updated: October 21, 2026
When we spoke to unit leaders about Movo, many told us the first they heard of it was the invite email. They weren't sure what Movo was, whether the email was genuine, or what they were being asked to do, so a lot of them set it aside. The leaders who had already heard about Movo from their council or district were much more comfortable getting started.
A short email from someone they know makes a real difference. It tells them what Movo is, why the council is using it, and what to do next. Below is an example you can use as a starting point. Fill in the parts in [brackets], change anything that doesn't fit your council, and send it from a council or district address your unit leaders already recognise.

Subject: Movo is now helping families join [Council name]
Hi [first name],
[Council name] is now using Movo to help new families join Scouting. Here's what it means for you and [Pack 123].
What Movo does
When a family asks about your unit on BeAScout, Sam, Movo's assistant, texts them back within a couple of minutes. Sam tells them it's an AI assistant, answers the everyday questions (when and where you meet, what it costs, how to visit a meeting, how to register), and helps them sign up. It works at 8pm on a Sunday just like 10am on a Tuesday, which is when most families ask.
Sam answers from your unit's BeAScout pin. If the pin is right, Sam is right.
When Sam needs you
If a family asks something Sam can't answer, or wants to talk to a person, you get an email with just that question. Tap the link, type your answer, and you're done. The link signs you in, so there's no password to remember.
Three things to do this week
Accept your invite. Look for an email from movo@info.scouting.org with the subject "[Council name] invited you to [Pack 123]". The link works for 14 days. If you can't find it, check your spam folder, or reply to this email and we'll send a new one.
Check your pin. Once you're in, click My pin. If your meeting day, place or cost has changed, fix it there. It updates BeAScout at the same time.
Try Sam. Click Try Sam and ask the questions a new parent asks you. You'll see exactly what families hear and where each answer came from. If something is wrong, you can fix it from there.
You're in control
In Settings, you can choose to hear from Movo every time it starts talking to a new family, every time a family registers, or only when it needs you. If you'd rather handle a family yourself, open them in Movo and click Pause. Sam stays quiet until you click Resume.
[Optional: You may still get the "new lead" emails from my.scouting.org for the same families. You don't need to do anything with those. Movo is already following up.]
Need help?
There are short step-by-step guides at support.trymovo.ai, and you can click Get help inside Movo at any time.
If you have questions, reply to this email or contact [council contact name, email and phone].
Thank you for everything you do for our Scouts.
