How Movo handles family data
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Families trust you with their details. Here's what Movo keeps, who can see it, and what it's used for. For the full legal detail, see our privacy policy.
What Movo keeps
- Contact details for parents and guardians: names, phone numbers and email addresses.
- Children's details, like their name and age, and which location they're interested in.
- Every conversation with the family: texts, emails and calls, including call recordings and transcripts.
- What your team adds, like notes, a status, or a location.
Who can see it
Only people at your organization, and only for their own part of it. Someone who looks after one location sees that location's families. An admin sees the whole organization. See Who can see what.
Movo's own staff only see what they need to run and support the service, and that access is logged.
What it's used for
Movo uses family information for one thing: talking with families on your behalf. It doesn't sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train general AI models. When an AI provider helps write a reply, it does so under contract, only for that conversation.
Children
Movo only talks to parents and guardians, never to children. When you import a list, you confirm that every phone number and email belongs to an adult. If a child picks up the phone or texts, Movo wraps up and picks back up with a parent. Anything about a child's safety goes to a real person straight away.
Families stay in control
A family can text STOP at any time, and Movo stops texting them. Every email has an unsubscribe link. If a family asks for a person, Movo passes them to your team. See What happens when a family texts STOP.
To stop Movo contacting a family yourself, click Pause next to the family's name. See Pausing Movo for a family.
Calls
Calls are recorded so your team can review them. At the start of every call, Movo says who it is and which organization it's calling for.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit and protected by access controls, and changes are logged.
Deleting a family's information
If a family asks you to delete their information, open the family, click the three dots at the top right, then click Delete family.
Movo asks you to confirm. Deleting is permanent: it removes the family, their conversations, and everything Movo knows about them. Click Delete family to go ahead.
If the family only wants Movo to stop messaging them, click Pause Movo instead. Deleting doesn't stop them coming back: if their details arrive again from a sign-up form, a lead feed or a list, Movo adds them as a new family and can message them again.
